List of contestants of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition is announced

In the qualifying round, the Competition jury accepted a total of 61 pianists, 48 violinists, 48 cellists and 79 vocalists (40 male and 39 female).

In addition, for Round I the Competition accepted Nikolai Medvedev (Russia), First Prize winner for piano in the Second All-Russia Music Competition; Lyubov Stekolshikova (Russia), First Prize winner for violin in the Second All-Russia Music Competition; Haik Kazazyan (Russia), Fourth Prize winner for violin in the XII International Tchaikovsky Competition; Alexander Buzlov (Rusiia), Second Prize for cello in the XIII International Tchaikovsky Competition; Rustem Khamidullin (Russia), First Prize winner for cello in the Second All-Russia Music Competition; Alexander Ramm (Russia), First Prize winner for cello in the First All-Russia Music Competition; Alexey Zelenkov (Russia), First Prize winner in the Second All-Russia Music Competition for male voice; and Anna Litvin (Russia), First Prize winner in the Second All-Russia Music Competition for female voice.

Preliminary auditions for the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition will take place on the following dates:
  • Piano: 10 to 12 June 2015 in the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory;
  • Violin: 12 to 14 June 2015 in the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory;
  • Cello: 13 to 15 June 2015 in the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory;
  • Female voice: 15 to 17 June 2015 in the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory;
  • Male voice: 18 to 19 June 2015 in the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory
After the preliminary auditions, the total number of contestants accepted by the Competition will be 30 pianists, 25 violinists, 25 cellists, and 40 vocalists (20 male and 20 female).

The XV International Tchaikovsky Competition will take place both in Moscow (for piano and violin) and Saint Petersburg (for cello and solo voice) from 15 June through 3 July 2015.

Award ceremonies for the winners of the Competition will take place on 1 July [CM1] at 15:00 at Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, followed by gala concerts featuring Competition winners on 2 July at 19:00 at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and 3 July at 19:00 at Mariinsky II. The Grand Prix winner will be announced on 3 July at Mariinsky II.
