On 15 April 2018, a concert in memory of Nikolai Petrov took place in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. The famous pianist headed the jury of the XIII International Tchaikovsky Competition in the Piano nomination

Vladimir Ovchinnikov, winner of the VII International Tchaikovsky Competition, played in memory of Maestro Nikolai Petrov. The pianist performed with the State Symphony Capella of Russia, under conduct of Valeri Polyansky. The concert program was dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4 and Symphony No. 9 were performed. As a member of the jury of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, Vladimir Ovchinnikov noted: “The performing level of this Competition is incredibly high, very interesting people played there. Of course, the nerves were on the stretch, because performing on such a stage as the Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory is a big event in the biography of every musician and a big responsibility”.
