Valery Gergiev will open music festival in Verbier

Orchestra of the music festival in Verbier and conductor - maestro Valery Gergiev (member of the organizing committee of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition) will open the jubilee, 25th music festival.

The festival starts on July 19 at the Salle des Combins Concert Hall.

The symphonic diptych by Rodion Shchedrin, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for Violin and Orchestra by Camille Saint-Saens, Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 by Felix Mendelssohn, a fragment from the operetta Candide by Leonard Bernstein and the symphonic suite Scheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov .

Soloists: Daniel Lozakovich (violin), laureate of the second prize of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition George Li (piano), Pritti Yende (soprano).

The international music festival in Verbier was founded in 1994. The jubilee forum will be held from July 19 to August 5, 2018 and will include 59 concerts in its program with the participation of 88 of the world's largest musicians and more than 270 young talented performers.
