Prize-winner of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition Aigul Hismatullina will perform at the an evening consecrated to the memory of DmitryHvorostovsky at the Mariinsky theater.
On October 26, the Mariinsky theatre hosted an evening in memory of Dmitry Hvorostovsky.
According to the press service of the theater, the memorial concert will be attended by the friends of the singer, world stage stars: HiblaGerzmava, Ekaterina Semenchuk, IldarAbdrazakov, as well as by young soloists of the theater, prize-winners of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition AigulHismatullina and winner of the special prize in memory of Hvorostovsky - VladislavKupriyanov.
The Symphony orchestra of the theater conducted by Valery Gergiev will perform famous arias and orchestral fragments from operas by Mozart, Bellini, Verdi, Offenbach, Mascagni, Ponchielli, Glinka, Borodin and Rimsky-Korsakov.
"Hvorostovsky's name first appeared on the theater's playbill in 1988, when Gergiev invited a young artist from Krasnoyarsk to sing Valentine in Gounod's Faust. Since then, it has been associated with the names of Mariinsky artists many times - in leading Opera houses and concert halls, in different cities and countries, in booklets of international festivals, on the covers of audio discs, " – notes the theater.
